Big Fat Toronto!

Hey Everyone!

I just thought I should let you know about a fabulous event taking place tomorrow called "Big Fat Toronto." It starts off with a size 12+ clothing swap, and finishes with a discussion about fat acceptance and a social, where you can mingle with other people in the Toronto fat acceptance community. I am so going, and I am just trying to figure out what to wear now! If you're in the Toronto area, you should come. Here are the details for tomorrow:


In order to allow more time to exchange your clothing, we’re extending the swap by 30 minutes and pushing back the discussion by half an hour. You can check out more details on our facebook page!

Exciting! I am hoping to go just for the fashion swap since I have a wedding to get to tomorrow night and I can't wait to see all the treasures people bring with them. As for what to wear...I'm debating that as well and I'm thinking tunic top and leggings for very quick changes.

Do you think there will be a place to try stuff on? I hadn't thought of that. I wonder how it works - like if you bring 10 pieces, you take any 10 others home with you, or you have to swap directly with the person whose stuff you want? Hmmm... Are you ladies getting there right at 1? I think I am. First breakfast at the Skyline cafe, then maybe a bit of thrifting if I'm feeling up to it (or maybe just a walk in high park), and then Big Fat Toronto! I am so excited. It's going to be a fun day.

I am in the process of planning a curvy clothing swap in the GTA as well! I had just posted ads on Craigslist and Kijiji to get other women's feedback to see if it was something worth going ahead and organizing -- and it is!
I won't be able to attend this one but hope you girls have fun and find loads of stuff!
