All the Latest Trends with Addition Elle's Perfect Fit Curvy Jeans

Hey Guys!

So for this week's #jeansdujour post, I wanted to show you a few different outfits featuring the latest trends with Addition Elle's Perfect Fit jeans. Addition Elle has come out with the Perfect Fit jean - a collection of three different denim fits uniquely designed to work with customers' different shapes. They have Curvy jeans (that's me!) which is smaller at the waist and fuller at the hips, Shaped, which is gently curved from the waist to the hip, and Versatile, which is a straighter cut that works for most customers because of its stretchy fabric. I am wearing the Curvy in blue (and petite - I am only 5'4", and these work amazing well on me).

The first trend I wore is lace. Lace is the perfect fabric to make your plus size jeans look very feminine and pretty. The jacket I wore is another trendy piece. The puffy sleeve is definitely making a comeback, albeit a more conservative puffyness than its 80s counterpart!

For my second look, I wanted to show you some of the geometric stuff that is on trend right now. This look is a little edgier, but the pink in the top softens it up a bit.

And for my final look, I broke out the vintage vixen vibe. Polka dots are always fun, and when you mix them with a great colour like this one, and put them on a jacket cut as well as this one, they just pop, you know? Polka dots are great, and I do love a good peplum waist!

So, which is your favourite look? And which trends are you planning on wearing this season?

Outfit of the Day - Weekend Casual, and getting crazy excited for Full Figured Fashion Week!!!

Hey Guys,

Here is one of my latest outfits, which I just wore for my typical weekend stuff, hanging out in the Junction area of Toronto, a bit of window shopping, a few errands, nothing too special, but overall a pretty fun and relaxed day. Sometimes I find that those are the best kind.

I am amping up for Full Figured Fashion Week, and I couldn't be more excited. I leave in less than two weeks! I have so much to do between now and then (including cleaning out my very messy closet so I'll be able to find everything I want to bring with me and have enough patience to actually plan some outfits). Some of Peter's new clothes arrived today, and they look pretty awesome. I am still waiting on his suit. I have to meet up with a couple of Toronto plus size fashion designers who've agreed to dress me for some of the events to pick up my outfits. I am really glad that I will be able to represent the Canadian plus size fashion scene at this event, not only as a blogger, but also as a living, breathing example of the exemplary work that is being done here. I'm not divulging any secrets about who's dressing me for what, but I've been dropping some hints so some of you have probably already figured out at least a couple of the designers I'll be wearing! Lincoln is providing Peter and I with their 2013 MKS for the drive down to NYC, so I'll be sure to keep you all in the know about that! Arriving in style, just the way I like! ;)

I have also been hoarding some of the new items I've been picking up so that my outfits in NYC will be all new (at least to you guys, lol). Some of my favourite looks so far are very geometric inspired. I am looking forward to FFFWeek because it allows me to be a little more bold and daring with my choices without having the entire suburban population look at me as if I have two heads. Context is everything, I suppose, and this context allows me to be a bit more wild! A few words that describe some of my outfits for FFFWeek are: geometric, sheer, architectural, indie, Canadian, hats and fascinators, gowns, AMAZING. You can expect to see me wearing at least 10 different outfits for the events at Full Figured Fashion Week (and it's only 4 days!). I know my days are going to be jam-packed with awesomeness, and I can't wait to meet lots of fabulous ladies there, as well as cover the launch of several new brands and celebrate the new collections of old favourites.

Anyway, without further ado, here is my weekend casual outfit...

Lane Bryant's New T3 Technology Denim

Hey Guys,

Lane Bryant recently rolled out a new denim collection called T3 (the 3 Ts stand for Tighter Tummy Technology) and they kindly sent me a pair to review! I was super psyched to receive them, since Lane Bryant announced their release at their blogger conference during Full Figured Fashion Week, (which I wrote posts about here, here, here, and here).

I was amazed to find out that the waistband was elastic. You would never be able to tell just from looking at them! On the inside in the front, there is a stretchy black fabric to tame your wobbly bits (should you wish them to appear tamed). A lot of thought and effort has gone into the design of the jeans (trust me, I met the designer and he explained everything), and if you're like me and you have trouble with gaping at the back of the waist, you won't have that in these.

They are a lovely, dark wash, denim, and they are very comfortable. I am about 5'4", and the length of the jeans would be perfect for heels, but I would need to hem them if I wanted to wear flats. They have a nice stretch to them and they keep their shape really well in between washes. The rise of the jean is very high. I guess this helps keep the waist from gaping and with tummy-taming, and rise is totally an issue of preference. I kind of like the high rise because I don't already have a pair of high rise jeans, and it's kind of a fun style to wear with a tucked in blouse and a big belt.

Overall, I think the jeans are great, and they have quickly become a wardrobe staple. I would love to have pairs in different washes (or even black) and also in a lower-cut waist. I hope Lane Bryant continues working on stuff like this. T3 is fantastic. I think Lane Bryant will be sending me a couple of items from their new Cacique Body line (lotions, fragrances, etc) in the next month or so, so keep checking back for a review of that! Also - great news - Lane Bryant will begin shipping internationally in September, so you can get a pair of T3 even if you're not based out of the US!

Here are a couple of pictures of me wearing my Lane Bryant T3 jeans over the past couple of weeks. What do you think?

A Lazy Sunday Afternoon Outfit... What I'm Wearing

Hey Everyone!

I wore this outfit on Sunday for a bit of thrifting. I went to Goodwill and Value Village (where I got an amazing top for $2.99 that you'll see in my next post), and then the bf and I went to get a really good cupcake at Swirls in Etobicoke! Yum, red velvet! That was sort of a reward for the bf after putting up with all my browsing in the second-hand stores, which he's not the biggest fan of. I love how comfortable this outfit is. It's perfect for a lazy day like this one. I also love that the weather is getting warmer, which means more pictures outside! Navy is my favourite colour, which you can definitely see in this outfit, and probably throughout the blog! The bf took these shots in our backyard...
